Stick

As snowboarding grew in the 90's, the abstract became welcomed. To invent was to be different. To inspire was to lead. To challenge was to be genuine. Many magazines came and went during this high point for print in the snowboarding industry. And it was quickly becoming that, an industry. So a few creators banded together and founded Stick Magazine. Heavy on photography, minimalist in copy, and the layout of imagery from page to page was unique, odd, and different. All the things that snowboarding were born from.  Tight shots, bails, out of focus spreads, dozens of fonts and sizes slammed into one page layout. It kicked 'publishing' rules for 'action' out the window. It was short lived, but we thank Ray gun, Scott Clum, Trevor Graves, and all who made it happen.
